CrateVolt and your information

This policy covers cratevolt.ca. For privacy questions or requests, contact gameday5000@gmail.com. Please do not include passwords, card numbers or banking documents.

What we collect and why

Account information includes your email, username, profile information and optional profile photo. We use it to authenticate you, verify your email, restore account access and operate your dashboard. Music preferences, saved artists, playlists, scene choices, votes and qualified listening/share activity support discovery, recommendations and chart integrity. Order and membership records include transaction identifiers, amounts, payment/refund status and access eligibility. Private support requests and messages are stored so we can respond and maintain conversation history.

What is public

Published artist profiles, approved recordings, artwork, credits, artist introductions, public press kits and approved public comments can be viewed by visitors. Artists should upload only information and media they are authorized to publish. A file submitted for public release may become publicly accessible; use private draft and member-media features for content intended to remain restricted. Remove location metadata from images before uploading.

Payments and service providers

Stripe processes payments and artist onboarding. Card and bank information entered on Stripe’s pages is handled by Stripe; CrateVolt stores transaction references and payment status rather than full card numbers. Website hosting, email delivery and embedded media providers process information needed for their services. These providers may process information outside Canada. Embedded YouTube and other third-party content can collect information under the provider’s own policy when loaded. Gravatar may use an email hash to display an avatar.

Cookies and security

WordPress uses cookies for sign-in, sessions and saved settings. Operational logs may include IP addresses, browser information and request times for security and troubleshooting. Disabling required session cookies can prevent sign-in. Use a unique password and keep receipt and password-reset links private.

Messages and choices

Account verification, password resets, receipts and support updates are service messages. Artist update preferences and available unsubscribe controls manage optional updates. Changing optional preferences does not cancel a paid membership; use Manage Renewal for that.

Retention, access and removal

Account and activity records remain stored while they are needed for platform features, support and chart review. Transaction records may need to remain for accounting, refunds, disputes and legal obligations. Ask us to access, correct or erase your personal information or close your account. We verify requests before acting and explain any information retained. Deleting information does not necessarily cancel an active Stripe subscription; cancel renewal first or ask support to help. Public copies already downloaded by others may remain outside our control.

Changes and concerns

We update this page when our practices change. Contact us with questions about how your information is used or to raise a privacy concern.
